Lincoln Trail Riders

Just a reminder…..the Oct 10th pleasure show was rained out last Saturday, so the rain date is this Saturday Oct 17. We only have three workers signed up to work the show so any help in this area would be appreciated.

Since there has been so much rain the past few weeks, Tom is going to take his TR3 arena drag up to do the arena so hopefully the arena will be in good shape for the show.

The Fun Show has been rescheduled for October 31st, more details will follow in the newsletter.

Attached is a tack swap / open house / one year anniversay that Tom and I are having at our barn, Grand Paradise Ranch (GPR). Please come and tour the barn, buy some tack, sell some tack or eat at Andy’s food stand compliments of GPR.. A flyer is attached below: Friends and family are welcome.

Lincoln Trail Riders Fall Festival

October 17^th (if none of the last three shows get rained out)

Potluck lunch at 12:00 noon and games start at 1:00 pm at the LTR Arena

The club will provide hamburgers and hot dogs.

Pumpkin carving contest – Bring your pumpkin already carved!

Bring your own drinks and a dish to share.

Bring your horse to participate in mounted games.

Cost: Participation in games is free for members and $10 all-day fee for non-members.

Trail Ride Committee Update provided by Sharon 

Set up dates for trail rides. They will be as follows:

October 24^th at Greensfelder

Contact Sharon at 618-920-1540   Please try to join in the fun should be a good time…. Be ready to ride at 10:30, there will be a potluck lunch. Be sure to bring drinks and an extra dish.

The trail ride at Greensfelder will cost $75.00 for the shelter.

New Business:

Linda thanked Cindy for making the show go very smooth.

There was discussion about the benefit for handicap people. We will find out more information on this event. If you would like to research it, it is available on the Fox 2 website.

Family Fun Show: At this point it will be held on October 17^th if there are no cancelled shows. It will be free to members and we will have all kinds of fun and games. Cindy said Fred is willing to donate some skinny barrels for the California flags. If there are any special classes be sure to talk to Cindy.  If you have any suggestions please contact Cindy. This show will be open to the public. Any non-members will have to fill out a non-member form to be in the show. This show will be a potluck show. Bring a dish and some drinks and the club will donate some hotdogs and hamburgers.  If you have any suggestions please contact Cindy.  The club has enough ribbons for 2^nd – 5^th place and we will do 1^st place prizes. Angie will look for 1^st place ribbons or prizes.

Rosiland had found some prizes for the Christmas party.  

 Announcements:

There will be the 1^st annual Mark Harrell Horse Shows Open Show on September 26^th 2009 at 10 am. This will be held at Mark Harrell Quarter Horses at 1600 North 81^st in East St. Louis, Illinois 62203. For more information please call (618) 397-1388.

The Christmas party will be held on December 5^th.

We need more ideas to attract people to the shows. If you have any ideas about how we can get more people to attend please contact the secretary (Victoria Provost), and she will pass them on.

Cindy announced that the May 2nd show workers had been moved to the rain date of October 3rd. If you were suppose to work the May 2nd show and you can’t work the October 3rd show you need to get a hold Cindy {(618) 345-5601} and change your work date.
